| Pipe restoration is the rejuvenation of the an old smoking friend. I offer a variety of services to make your briar pipe smoke as good as ever. As the Brigham Production Manager, I became well acquainted with making and repairing not only Brigham's, but all brands of briar pipes. Since the factory in Toronto is no longer accepting repairs, I have acquired some of their original production and repair equipment. | Basic Restoration |
This is a standard pipe Restoration. In this service I provide:
1. Bowl reaming to remove excess cake;2. Sterilization of the air channel and shank; 3. Sterilization of the stem air channel; 4. Removal of bowl rim charring; 5. Buffing and polishing stem; 6. Buffing, polishing and waxing bowl. |

| Complete Restoration |
This service is to, as much as possible, bring the interior surfaces of
the pipe to a near original condition. This is particularly good for
pipes purchased as estates. I do this by:
1. Completely sand out and sterilization of the interior of the bowl.
Depending on your wishes, buffing to a smooth bare wood or relining
will also be done;2. Drill out air channel from bowl. This means enlarging the air channel; 3. Stem bleaching; 4. Buffing, polishing and waxing. Basic Restoration is included with this service. |

| Stem Replacement |
Stem replacement is a standard pipe repair service. I will attempt to
match up your stem with my stock and duplicate the original bend. Basic

| Brigham Aluminum Tenon (Original) Stems | Brigham
has, in recent years, moved away from its traditional aluminum tenon.
This has been met with mixed reviews and has also led to a diminishing
supply for replacement tenons of this ilk. Over the years, Brigham
has used a wide number of tenon lengths depending on the style of the
pipe. Although I have some of the last available aluminums, they
are in limited quantity and are predominantly of a single size. What I
do to remedy this shortage is reuse the tenon that came with the
original pipe. The tenon is removed from the old stem, completely
sterilized and then installed in a new stem. Pinning is an
additional cost. Basic Restoration is included with this service.

| Brigham Composite Tenon (New) Stems |
These stems require less work to replace and the tenons are more readily available. Pinning is an additional cost. Basic Restoration is included with this service.

| Brigham Grade Pinning |
I did not charge for this service in the past but it does take a bit of
time and detail work (sometimes includes replacing a whole stem if it
chips when inserting or buffing the pins). Therefore, the first pin is free, each
additional pin is:

| Saving Fancy Stems |
Pipes have been sent to me requesting a new stem when the tenon has
broken off inside the mortise. I do replace the stems on standard
shapes because the replacement will not change the original artistic
intent of the design. Freehand pipes with special stems are a different
story. There is not much chance that I will be able to match the
original artistry, so I do what I can to save the original stem. This
means putting a new tenon on the stem. So far, I have been pleased with
the results. Unusual pipes have been able to retain their character by
still incorporating the original stem. It is a fiddly procedure hence
the rate. Basic Restoration is included with this service.

| Restaining |
Restaining is available. I will sand the bowl and try to restore the
intended character of the pipe. I use four basic stains and blend them
to colour match the original staining. Of course, I can stain to the
pipe to your preference if you do not like the colour the pipe started
with. Be advised, many pipe manufacturers use darker stains or
sandblast/rustication to mask flaws. Making a pipe lighter may show
flaws that are not currently visible. I will advise you on this prior
to performing the sanding. Basic Restoration is included with this service.
